this is the california landscape, the rolling hills in a giant ellipse. and it's as if the land was cut apart or sectioned so that you could see into it. the memory of the land is embedded in it. and inside of this ellipse, you see the man who, at the very beginning of los angeles, sold ice creams even before there was a city. the river that moves central to this land base, that is first water, and then concrete, and then water again, is sort of a wish for the future. the quiva at the center, which is the home place, the oven, the womb, as it were. the little, tiny houses that represent first sonora town, east los angeles, all the way through to chavez ravine. and in the land, the sleeping giant, who represents the mexicano/latino population of this region, awakes. first sleeping as a female, then male, then a female who o has the borr hammered into her back, awakes. and her hand pours out the blood that becomes this kind of march of humanity led by a spirit warrior, who is an azteca. i guess i've always been a visual artist. i was known through high scho

there were only four awards given for the entire state of california. you had a jury of architecture, engineering and planning and history along with critics from the media, who based the selection on the secretary of interior standards and those have been guiding juries for the past 29 years. and so, later on this month, our own sals, will be traveling down to los angeles to pick up our award. this award as you know is for our archaeological exhibit and it is being shown at ac transit headquarters and back to san francisco for city hall centennial celebration. on to our work with the san francisco unified school district. as you know we have been working with all of our 28 union and some of our guys are here today. as well as all of our contractors, web core particular, to rereach out to our youth, provide education opportunities, and donation and so forth. and i want to say that web core deserves a great deal of recognition because they have been doing a lot of work in terms of donating the materials to the various schools as well as reaching out to t

chevron had a fire at their northern california refinery. and then exxon had a power outage at their one in torrance, california, and that has put a lot of pressure on the gasoline markets here because you can't make california gasoline at every refiner. that sets up very well for those that can like valero and tesoro. valero has two big refiners out here. one is in the oakland area at the bellissimo plant, and another down in southern california. they do about up to 300,000 barrels day. this is really a great tailwind for them. i actually did a little back of the napkin. i think this probably adds something like $600,000 a day in profit to valero's bottom line based on about 275,000 barrels a day of production out of those two refineries. you know, the other thing is this company's really cheap. i mean it's trading at about 7 1/2 times full year earnings, 4 1/2 times on the ebitda basis, but i don't tell people to buy stocks that are up 60%. so we're going to have to look for a better way to do it. >> all right. so mike obviously is bullish
